The moment has arrived as BTC step out for their biggest match yet.
On Friday 15 May 2026, the BTC boys football team will take to the field at Blanchflower Stadium for an 11am kick off, knowing they stand just one match away from making the school history. After months of commitment, dedication and hard-work in training, BTC now have the chance to bring home what would be the first ever boy's football trophy for the school.
But the question remains: Can they rise to the occasion when it matters most?
BTC Boys Football Squad 2026
The squad for the match is made up of Jack Daly (8P), Brody Kelly (8P), Rory Darby (8P), Sean Hanvey (8P), Darragh Parker (8P), Jude Murray (8P), Jacob Saunders (8M), Charlie Parke (8M), Fionn Mackin (8T), Alfie Quinn (8T), Jude Murray (8T), Aodhan Davey (8T), Michael Martin (8T), Coran Doran (8L), Lucas Carmichael (8B) and Ronan Burns (8F).
The road to the final has been anything but easy. BTC have come through difficult matches against CBS Omagh and Our Lady and St Patrick’s College Knock (OLSPCK), showing resilience, discipline and real character along the way. As the season has gone on, the team has continued to improve, growing into a well-organised and cohesive unit.
The coaches Mr. McDermott, alongside 6th years Caolan and Lonan, has praised the commitment shown by the players in recent weeks.
“The boys have been working tirelessly over the last number of weeks. Numbers at training have been excellent and the quality of coaching has also been outstanding. The team has really gelled and grown as the year has gone on, and they are really starting to play like a cohesive unit” – Mr Leneghan, Team Manager.
There have already been plenty of memorable moments this season - Ronan Burn's outrageous back-heel goal, Jack Daly's heroic goalkeeping in penalty shootouts, and the dependable defending of Brody Kelly and Rory Darby against strong oppositions. With talented players across the pitch and quality available on the bench, every member of the team has played an important role in getting BTC to this stage.
The boys know that Boy’s Model will provide a major test, but confidence remains high. If BTC show the same grit, determination and togetherness that has carried them through the season, they will have every chance of bringing back the silverware and making history.
The whole school will be behind them on Friday, showing full support as BTC step into their biggest match of the season. It is historic moment for boy’s football at BTC, with the team just one game away from something never achieved before. No matter the result, the players can be proud of how far they have come and the efforts they have shown throughout the season, with the school fully proud of their journey and achievements.
A moment the team and the whole school, will remember for years to come.
Ahead of the final, the team captain Jack Daly and 2 team members Rory Darby and Jacob Saunders spoke about their journey this season and their excitement for the match on the 15 May 2026. Click the video to watch!
